WELCOMING ALEX (MACNEIL) TO OUR TEAM!
I just wish to express our belated, but most sincere congrats, our utmost gratitude, and a VERY, VERY warm welcome, to this year's awesome LAWPS Summer Student / Activity Co-ordinator, Alex MacNeil, of New Glasgow. We have been blessed with the temporay addition of Alex to our team! Alex is a wonderful young man with admirable people skills, also a very kind and caring nature, diligent and hard-working ethics, innumerable talents and skills, and much, much more...
Alex is working along with us in hopes of making 2009's summer a brighter one for many in our community. It is our goal to work together over these summer months, doing our very best to offer participation in various enjoyable opportunities (activiies, outings, etc.), for those many deserved residents, who may very well be living right along side any one of us, and are disabled in some form, causing them unnecessary retrictions, at times. Succeeding in fulfilling the goals, as mentioned above, is our ultimate aim, and a most rewarding one at that... for ALL con-
cerned!
Our first planned event thus far, was our day spent at Lorda Park... fishing, barbecuing, and just eating up the beautiful weather. Many thanks to Alex for his work on that day! He is a multi-talented young man, to say the least!
Worth mentioning too, is that Alex is already a remarkably accomplished musician, at his young age, with his own band in tow, The Northend Rhythm and Blues Band. Ya gotta see 'em! And... keep your eyes and ears open, because I think you'll be hearing his name, in regard to his remarkable musical abilities, etc., many times over, in the years to come!
Alex and I, intend on planning many more enjoyable days / events, just as enjoyable as our day spent at Lorda! On with the show!

Date change for Bowling!
Alex MacNeil here, community worker for Let Abilities Work Partnership Society. Unfortunately, bowling will not be happening this week! As our plans continue for exciting summer events, we are moving our bowling opener to July 29th and will be hosting archery at the Michelin Social Club on July 22nd!
Kathy Rose and I will be rounding up the troops on the phone to make sure both events receive a great turn out. Anyone interested in helping us to develop the membership and help bring in new blood would be welcome to come and help out. Just give me a shout at 754-6740!
We just had our first event on July 8th. Thanks to everyone who attended our trip to LORDA! And what better way to start the summer months than with a trip to LORDA? It was a chance to kick back, relax, eat at the barbecue and do some fishing! (Even if the fish weren't biting!) A special thanks to Kathy and Phillip who helped organize the calling and for manning the BBQ! There are some good photos on this fun event. Check them out by clicking on our photo album here on the left.
Remember, our next event will be archery on July 22nd and then bowling will begin on July 29th. I can't wait to see all of you again!
As our events are being invented and shaped, I will be updating you regularly and would be grateful if I could have both your input and support. Call me at 755-0333.
If these events listed interest you, please let me know as soon as possible (Call 755-0333) so that I may organize myself with the C.H.A.D service to ensure that you and all of our supporters can make it to our events.End of Article - Return to main page
